FORCE OF NATURE

1 August - 30 September 2021

"There are always flowers for those who want to see them" - Henri Matisse

'Force of Nature' features works by a collective of early career artists and reveals the flower as a surprisingly diverse and rich motif. The exhibition draws attention to the observation that artists continue to return to the flower as subject, and the question that thus arises: Why? Why does the flower fascinate artists? Why do they paint, mould and shape flowers in all sorts of materials and in all nuances?

It is the ambition of the exhibition to show how the artists use, interpret, treat, challenge, express and experiment with the flower and its potential in the artistic process. Within the exhibition each artist depicts the Echinacea, a universal symbol of strength and health, a fitting and positive undertone as we see the light after a period of darkness. The purpose of this is to come together as a community by looking at one singular subject, championing artistic interpretation and the power of nature.
